Since 1921, the YWCA of Orange County (YWCA-OC) has been serving the community with a mission to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. We at YWCA-OC believe that women deserve the chance of leading a bold, strong, and confident life in their communities throughout Orange County. Our programs are designed to provide healthcare opportunities, job training and placement, self-esteem programs, such as our prom project, and scholarship opportunities for adult reentry women to pursue their academic or career goals.

We are prepared to make HERstory and want you to join us on this incredible journey. The event will be held at the Anaheim Whitehouse from 12(noon) to 2:00 pm. Three dynamic and inspiring women and the Master of Ceremonies will be telling their stories, sharing their challenges, sacrifices, celebrations and milestones that made them who they are today. Our speakers will include:

  • Sir Chef Bruno Serato, owner of the Anaheim White House, philanthropist, restaurant owner, chef, author, and speaker will host the event. He will open the event by sharing the story of his mother, who had a dream to feed hungry and homeless children. Today Chef Bruno feeds over 17,000 children per week and has set up a charity called "Caterina's Club" in his mother's memory.
  • Susan Ellis Ouweleen, will share her inspirational journey surviving the communist Khmer Rouge government in Cambodia led by Pol Pot from 1975 to 1979. During that time, an estimated 1.5 to 2 million Cambodians died of starvation, execution, disease or overwork. Today, Susan is a successful businesswoman who owns and operates Assured Audiovisual Inc.
  • Summer Dabbs has worked with children with autism for over 20 years, first, as an owner of a children’s fitness center, and later as an in-home behavior therapist. She is a role model in the community and empowers generations with her proactive work in advancing awareness and programs benefiting autistic youth. HERstory is filled with experiences that will warm your heart.
  • Pastor Paula Ferris is the first female Senior Pastor in the 131 year history of the First United Methodist Church of Fullerton. Pastor Ferris will share HERstory of the things she learned, her sacrifices, challenges, celebrations, and milestones as a spiritual leader.

We are inviting 100 women to the Anaheim White House to attend the inaugural event and would like to invite your company to join forces with the YWCA-OC as a partnering sponsor. Your business will receive exposure throughout the community while helping support our programs in Orange County.
